Abstract

This research seeks to develop and evaluate a theoretical model to explore the impact of supply chain innovation on risk management skills, including robustness and resilience in global supply chain operations, and to analyze how these capabilities may enhance competitive advantage.

A theoretical model was formulated based on existing research and evaluated via a comprehensive questionnaire survey administered to South Korean manufacturers and logistics intermediaries engaged in global supply chain operations. We used confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) to check the recommended model against the data. It was determined that innovative supply chains have a notable favorable effect on all aspects of risk management competence, which subsequently has a substantial influence on the enhancement of competitive advantage. Consequently, this study demonstrates the significance of supply chain innovation and risk management capabilities in fostering competitive advantage.

This research enhances empirical comprehension of the strategic retention of supply chain innovation and risk management skills within the supply chain management (SCM) field. Additionally, it substantiates and enhances prevailing beliefs about innovation and competitive advantage. The discovery gives managers a strong reason to decide whether or not to invest in new technologies and new ways of doing things. This study is the first of its type to scientifically substantiate the connections among supply chain innovation, risk management competencies, and competitive advantage.
