Abstract

This bibliometric evaluation examines the academic field of sustainable agriculture in relation to rural development, covering the years 1986 to 2024. The research looks at important issues, prominent works, and new trends in the discipline by looking over 980 articles in detail. Using bibliometric methods like co-citation analysis and network visualization, the study finds groups of research subjects, such as technical progress, social aspects, economic effects, and environmental issues. Notable contributions by renowned writers are emphasized, illuminating crucial themes such as rural livelihoods, participatory techniques, and alternative food networks. The study also shows how research interests have changed over time, which shows new topics that might be explored in the future. The results help us better understand how sustainable agriculture may help rural areas grow and provide policymakers, practitioners, and academics useful information on how to encourage sustainable practices and improve rural well-being.
