Abstract

The amount of money spent on healthcare throughout the world is rising at an unsustainable pace. The amount of money spent on drugs and dealing with issues that come up with them keeps going up. A big problem in healthcare systems is that there are too many pharmaceutical mistakes and wrong prescriptions. This may lead to bad drug events, many of which might have been avoided. since of this, pharmacists have a great chance to help lower healthcare costs since they know how to find, fix, and stop drug mistakes and issues associated to medications. In the last several decades, the growth of clinical pharmacy practice has led to more pharmacists working in clinically advanced positions all around the globe. Pharmacist-provided services and clinical interventions have shown efficacy in mitigating the risk of adverse medication events and enhancing patient outcomes. Furthermore, the majority of published research indicate that these pharmacist activities are cost-effective or possess a favorable cost-benefit ratio. This research shows that pharmacists may help save a lot of money on healthcare in many different places. Nonetheless, there exists a scarcity of information in the literature delineating the precise aspects of pharmacists’ job that are the most efficacious and economically viable. Future high-quality economic assessments using rigorous methodology and research designs are necessary to ascertain whether pharmacist services provide substantial therapeutic benefits to patients and to validate the most significant cost reductions for healthcare budgets.
