Abstract

Pharmacists are very important in treating medication allergies, which are a big problem in healthcare since they may make patients less safe and less effective at getting well. This article talks about the duties of pharmacists in finding, evaluating, and treating medication allergies. It also stresses how important they are as a liaison between patients and other healthcare practitioners. Pharmacists improve patient outcomes by minimizing serious allergic responses and making sure patients take their medications as prescribed. They do this by teaching patients about their medications, reviewing their medications, and being involved in collaborative care models. When pharmacists are involved in pharmacovigilance and shared decision-making, it makes communication better and encourages a patient-centred approach to treatment. Even if there are problems with communication, knowledge gaps, and a lack of resources, there are still ways to improve pharmacist training, use technology, and encourage research. This article shows how important pharmacists are in managing medication allergies and how they may enhance patient safety and results by working well with patients and healthcare teams.
